De fietssnelweg F423 volgt de oude spoorwegberm tussen Eeklo en Zelzate.
Vanaf Eeklo tot aan de expresweg in Kaprijke is de fietssnelweg aangelegd. Het onderdeel Langestraat - Dam (N9) loopt door Provinciaal Centrum 'Het Leen'. Dit traject wordt 's avonds afgesloten en is dus enkel toegankelijk vanaf 9u 's morgens tot zonsondergang. Vanaf het station van Eeklo tot expresweg N49 te Kaprijke werd gerealiseerd.
